John the Baptist and Mary of Egypt.
John stands in the desert, before the encounter with Christ, at the baptism in the Jordan. Wisdom in solitude, inspired to command and proclaim new life in Christ. Mary (Mary Magdalena) after the "death" of Christ, she goes out into the desert like a hermit, to meditate on knowing the Lord. She wanders, still yearning for the physical company of the Lord. These two converse together in the desert; yet having lived at different times, icons distortion time and space because they speak of the eternal human condition. The silence of the desert allows us all to listen better to the interior voice which is continually present. “Our desert is His desert; our challenges are His challenges.”

Icon painters potentially write spiritual truth which can come through the reason as revelations or through logic which analyses and sees patterns. I would like to invite icon painters around the world to post their newest icon images. Icon painters potentially write spiritual truth which can come through the reason as revelations or through logic which analyses and sees patterns. Our intellect is essentially the innermost aspect of the heart, the eye of the heart/soul. Part of us knows God as we paint and the inner essences of things in an unmediated way. The images come as living waters and flow into image. I invite iconographers to post their image and comment together. Remember, the human family is created by “God”, let us give respect for everyone’s efforts and refrain from negative criticism. same forma as above.
