Criticism Forbidden: Archbishop Rino Fisichella, the president of the Pontifical Council for Promoting the New Evangelization, explained to journalists what constitutes “physical violence” against the Pope. Quote: “I would say that we need to understand well ‘physical violence,’ because sometimes words, too, are rocks and stones, and therefore I believe some of these sins, too, are far more widespread than we might think.” Fisichella failed to explain why such violence would be called “physical”, this means, referring to the human body.

Another Blow: The open war between Michael Voris’ Church Militant and Bill Donohue’s Catholic League is continuing. Yesterday Donohue published pictures with him, Cardinal Wuerl and Pope Francis. They were taken on September 23 during a meeting in Washington, D.C. The message to Voris is obvious: We are on the side of the pope, you are not.

Stupid Cardinals? Andrea Grillo, a professor of the Benedictine Pontifical University of Sant’Anselmo in Rome has accused the cardinals Pell, Burke and Sarah of a lack of experience an of a doctrinal defect because they stood up for the indissolubility of marriage during the Synod of Bishops. According to Grillo the three cardinals do not understand the family. He accuses them of a - quote - “stubborn reduction of Catholic doctrine in order to defend a discipline that according to Grillo is – quote – “no longer appropriate for the lifestyles of most of the ecclesial experience.”

Contemplative Prison: Monsignor Lucio Vallejo who is standing trial in the Vatican for having leaked documents to two journalists could be condemned to five years in detention. According to La Stampa there is a place for him in a Spanish monastery, not far from his home diocesis of Astorga where he could spent his time in – quote – prayer and penance.

Grillo is educated but he lacks wisdom.
