Why Did Vatican Prosecution Publish Becciu's "Francis Wanted Me Dead" Statement?

"I did not think it would come to this: he [= Francis] wants my death," wrote Cardinal Angelo Becciu in a message dated 22 July 2021 to his relative Giovanna Pani (Ansa.it, 25 November).

The message was published by the Vatican prosecutor's office during Becciu's ongoing trial.

Becciu also wrote: "He [= Francis] doesn't want to make a bad impression because of the first sentence he imposed on me" and "I never thought a man, let alone a Pope, would go this far."

@Steven O'Reilly (RomaLocutaEst.com) asks why the prosecution - and not the defence - released such information, as it portrays Becciu as an innocent man who was wronged by others.

The answer is not difficult. The prosecution wants to show that Becciu speaks badly of Francis and therefore must be punished, because justifying Francis at any cost seems to be the only goal of the Vatican "justice system".

If what Becciu says is true (sc., "he [= Francis] wants my death," why didn't Becciu have Bergoglio dealt with? It is this failure to take Gordo out that continues the hemorrhaging of the Church.

Two of the dubia cardinals both died suddenly & unexpectedly within exactly 2 months of each other in 2017….first Cardinal Meisner…..then Cardinal Caffarra.
