The 1981 apparitions in Medjugorje are said to have occurred on Apparition Hill (Brdo Ukazanja) which is located to the left of Cross Mountain (Križevac). The concrete cross on Cross Mountain was built by the impoverished people of Medjugorje to commemorate the 1900th anniversary of the Passion of Jesus and contains within the cross a relic from the True Cross of Jesus (gifted by Pope Pius XI).

I have to say from the outset that British newspapers such as the “Daily Mail”, “Daily Express” and “The Daily Telegraph” are best put to use at the bottom of a pet’s cage (I will read articles from these papers if they are brought to my attention). Simon Caldwell’s carefully constructed articles on Tomislav Vlasic’s alleged sexual relations with “Sister Rufina” are aspersions on the character and reputation of Tomislav Vlasic (spreading unsubstantiated allegations is poison to the heart of the recipient and the messenger). As for the Medjugorje phenomenon, the unprecedented move of the Vatican in the setting up of an international commission to investigate the alleged apparitions in Medjugorje will hopefully reach a definitive decision. I note in the above video the appearance of Fr Donald Calloway, MIC. If you have not viewed the “No Turning Back / Don Calloway” DVD (www.saintjoe.com), I wholeheartedly recommend doing so. It details the AMAZING conversion story of a young man from the way of depravity to a life of sanctity.

Thank you, Gregory! As you pointed out before, even St. Thomas' doubting served a spiritual purpose. 🙏

@ Cannoli - Quite!! 👍 Many Roman Catholics today are too accustomed to emotivity and irrational actions (post Vatican II) founded upon this lack of reason. Therefore, they suffer from an anaemic faith; a faith lacking in knowledge which retires into superstition before long. This is always the grave danger with religion.

You'll find many of Caldwell's editorials in "The Gay Times" and many other off-beat publications. Caldwell is openly hostile to the Catholic Church in general and thinks nothing of reporting lies because he realizes people believe much of what they read and do little investigation on the authenticity of the claims for themseleves. Caldwell is the last person you'd seek out to get any factual information from.

Father Tomislav Vlasic, the priest who helped to turn the Bosnian town of Medjugorje into one of the Catholic Church's most visited shrines, has left the priesthood after being placed under investigation by the Vatican.

By Simon Caldwell 8:00AM BST 27 Jul 2009

Father Tomislav Vlasic, the former "spiritual director" to six visionaries who claim that the Virgin Mary visited them nearly 40,000 times over 28 years, has been laicised by Pope Benedict XVI a year after he was placed under investigation over allegations that he exaggerated the apparitions and had engaged in sexual relations with a nun.
While the Vatican has never given the shrine its formal blessing, an estimated 30 million pilgrims have visited Medjugorje in the last three decades and hundreds of thousands make the journey from Britain and Ireland each year. The unfrocking of Father Vlasic will come as a blow to Medjugorje followers worldwide who were hoping that the Vatican would one day legitimise the controversial shrine.
The Franciscan asked to leave the priesthood after the Vatican launched an investigation into allegations that he was guilty of sexual immorality with a nun which he then covered up.
He was also suspected of exagerating stories of the Virgin Mary's appearance and under formal investigation for alleged "dubious doctrine, the manipulation of consciences, suspect mysticism and disobedience towards legitimately issued orders".
Father Vlasic refused to co-operate with the investigation from the outset and he was banished to a monastery in L'Aquila, Italy, where he was forbidden to communicate with anyone, even his lawyers, without the permission of his superior. He has not commented on the allegations but told the Vatican that he felt wronged given he had turned Medjugorje into an international shrine and generated funds to build new churches.

It will only be prophetic if it turns out I was right. It is an educated prediction at this point. It would make sense though because if it has gone on almost 30 years now it would be a great sign for it to continue until the 33rd year.

Rome definately will! And by the way I'll be the first to make this prediction (I believe anyway) June 24th of this year will be 30 years of apparitions in Medjugorje and I believe Our Lady will appear there for a total of 33 years (the age of Christ Crucified obviously) as a sign of God's great Mercy to mankind by allowing His Mother the entire mortal time Christ spent on earth for the saving of …More

The fruits in the beginning were there and THEN came UNHOLY behavior even by the clergy! Rome will have the Last Word.

As I said you have to focus on the fruits of Medjugorje and they are good. Anyone who does not want to believe in the apparitions can find and endless array of reasons they choose not to believe in them-just as anyone can disagree with Catholicism and give a million reasons why. Whether Our Lady did or did not say this or that to Vicka does not negate the millions of conversions to the Catholic faith resultant from the apparitions in Medjugorje. If the Devil is making the apparitions happen he's doing himself a great disservice getting people to join the Catholic Church.

When the Church celebrates Our Lady's birthdate and when Our Lady supposedly gave Vicka an alternate date is really not that important. Maybe Our Lady was letting us know the correct date for anyone interested. December 25th is probably not the actual birthdate of Christ yet we celebrate His birth on this date. The main thing to focus on in regard to Medjugorje are the fruits that come from Medjugorje and they are undoubtably good. The Church Fathers DO NOT ATTEST that Decemeber 25th is the ACTUAL HISTORICAL BIRTHDATE of Christ so likewise if Our Lady has a different birthdate than what the Church celebrates this is quite understandable! If Our Lady told Vicka her birthdate Our Lady SHOULD KNOW WHEN SHE WAS BORN!!!!!

The phrase “contestation of the Pharisees” should read “consternation of the Pharisees” in my previous posting.

Whatever the outcome of the commission’s investigation into the Medjugorje phenomenon, I will still trust in Jesus. What Jesus has said in scripture is sufficient and what the Holy Fathers have said in their teachings is more than sufficient. That the number and duration of the messages exceeds previous Marian apparitions does not invalidate “Medjugorje”. Such was the dire situation on one occasion in Holy Scripture that an ass was used to speak sense where all sense had been lost. Our God has heaven as His throne and the earth as His footstool. Jesus chose to speak and heal in a variety of ways and situations to the contestation of the Pharisees. Who are we to diminish the majesty and unfathomable love of our God? As for Fr Philip Pavich’s views on the apparitions, they are his personal interpretation. My brief thoughts on Vicka's words regarding Our Lady's birthday are as follows. The Queen of England has two birthdays, her actual birthday and her official birthday. Perhaps the discrepancy arises from this misunderstanding. Let me go further, a human being has a minimum of four birthdays: biblical (in the mind of God); biological (in the womb); biographical (in the world) and baptismal (in the church). I await the pronouncement of Holy Mother Church as to the authenticity of “Medjugorje”.

About 30 yrs worth of apparitions, and still counting? 🤨
For those of you that believe these "apparitions" are true and authentic, ....what or whom will you believe if Rome declares them NOT to be of supernatural origin? That they DO NOT approve them? Will you still believe in them?

During my stay there, it seemed to bring people closer to the church and changed many lives...that was good fruit, back then....

Vicka's statement quoting what she claims was told her by the Blessed Mother..very problematic.

Does anyone know of Heaven speaking the same mortals for over 30yrs? If so, pls inform me, truly..I would love to know this.

Why does Fr. Philip Pavich, once a dedicated follower of Medjugore and who gave retreats there, not believe in it anymore?

Something, has went "hay-wired" with this...and much more can be noted here that would certainly cause doubt for most.

We shall leave it in the hands of what Rome decides.

Feel free to respond to the above question. Pax
