Madrid Seminary Halfheartedly Denies Pro-Homosexual Training
The sessions were taught by Rev. Jesús Sastre García in November. He is affiliated with the pro-homosexual association Crismhom as a spiritual director.
InfoVaticana reported on January 8 about the training at the seminary. It added that the seminarians were provided, as a reference contact for the course, with an email from crismhom.org rather than a personal account of the priest.
On January 12, the seminary issued a statement confirming the sessions took place as part of the ordinary formation and were taught by Rev. García. The seminary said the content was fully in accordance with the Church’s Magisterium.
Earlier the same day, a statement attributed to Crismhom, published by ReligionDigital.org and later removed, denied that the Archdiocese of Madrid had involved the association in any training. It claimed the email address was the priest’s personal account.
InfoVaticana added that the seminary’s statement basically confirmed the core facts of its report.
The use of the email and the priest’s role within the group demonstrated a functional link between the sessions and the pro-homosexual association. It said the only disputed point was whether the content conformed to Church teaching.
Crismhom is publicly known for promoting a pastoral and doctrinal vision that does not consider homosexual acts sinful.
