Cardinal Stages Coronavirus Comedy During Holy Thursday Mass
Chicago Cardinal Blase Cupich showed up with a face mask, while celebrating a life-streamed Holy Thursday Mass into a camera.
A funny looking Cupich found himself in his 2700 sqm church that can seat 1,110 persons, with eight people:
• the co-presiding Father Bill Vollmer (with mask),
• one cross-bearer (without mask),
• a singer (without mask),
• a Polish and a Spanish reader (both without mask),
• an invisible organist and
• a cameraman.
Cupich wore the mask during the entrance procession, but kept it underneath his chin while speaking, singing and praying.
The purpose of the show was defeated when he disinfected his hands and went on distributing Communion to his two readers - without mask and without respecting sanitary distancing.
