Virus-Ecumenism: „There Is No Distinction Between Christians, Muslims Or Buddhists” - Cardinal

The coronavirus is an example of “the whole of humanity” being one - Abuja Cardinal John Onaiyekan, Nigeria, discovered (VaticanNews.va, April 1), “There is no distinction between Christians, Muslims or Buddhists, Africans and Europeans, black and white.”

Onaiyekan commented on an April 1 inter-religious prayer organised by the international coalition “Religions for Peace” that enjoys consultative status with different U.N. bodies. He called the prayer “significant” and “powerful.”

The cardinal was one of a dozen religious leaders who offered live-streamed sermons or prayers to different deities. The whole was moderated by a Hindu woman (video with Onaiyekan below).

Onaiyekan didn't pray but talked about the coronavirus, the poor Nigerian health system, and - even - about a need for repentance.
