The divisions caused by the war against Pope Francis are real, and personal.

Pope Francis’ critics are dividing the church and families—including mine.

“Pope Francis has damaged my faith,” she told me. I held my tongue, remembering my futile past attempts to respond to her antipathy toward our pope. …

"No kidding." @Be Ye Stupid Glad you finally noticed, moron. So we're agreed then. You're wrong. Also: This post has nothing to do with Communist China. Let's see how long it takes to get an admission of "no kidding" out of you for that.

There's nothing "deceitful" about it. Francis hasn't criticized China. So he has said nothing and done nothing. The word "any" applies.

"So as to try and prevent me, from pointing out that False Francis has both actively persecuted Chinese Catholics with the Communists..."

Speaking of "cheap lawyer", skip the quasi-legalistic syntax. You don't possess the grammar or the vocabulary to make it work.
Your sentence has the same stilted structure one sees in the "Letters To The Editor" section of the newspaper.

"So as to preven me, from pointing out the mayor has both actively persecuted environmental crtics with commercial realty companies... "

It's -bad- writing, nothing more or less. Worse, it's wrong. I'm not "preventing" you from posting anything. GTV will be a better place whensomeone does..

...and THIS post isn't about Communist China, you stupid little post-hijacker.

You're still doing what you always do. Derailing other people's posts for whatever agenda YOU want to push. Good Lord, this place needs moderators so badly.

"and at OTHER TIMES he has been silent while the Communists persecuted Chinese Catholics."

What you're admitting is Pope Francis has done nothing "at OTHER TIMES" as well which contradicts your original claim of asissting in persecution --which is an active act.

Sloppy, sloppy, sloppy. Every time you try this two-bit smarty-pants routine with me, it blows up in your face. Stick to someone like Still I Rise who's more your speed and even then you've never yet argued him to draw.

All of this is still another round of your endless topic-shifting. This post isn't about Pope Francis secret agreements with China.

That's what YOU want to talk about.

This post is about an article discussing the divisiveness modern Cathlics have today.. The article is about their eagerness to blame Pope Francis for what is, as I've shown, a much more widespread problem facing society in general.

It goes well beyond just the Pope or even the Catholic Church.

People have twisted their dislike for a person's actions into a personal hatred of the person themselves and an equal, immediate hatred for anyone who disagrees with them -including their own families.

Your remarks here and elsewhere on GTV are fine examples of that unbridled hate.

"Pope Francis" himself is dividing the Church. It's his intention to create confusion!

You're still missing the point. @Be Ye Stupid You're still conflating policy vs. person. I"m not surprised given your many other hates. Here's where you're wrong.

"Therefore, Francis is not only silent during the Communist Chinese Government's persecution of Catholics, Francis has assisted in the persecution of Chinese Catholics."

Persecution is an action. Silence is a refusal to comment on that action.

Persecution is doing something, Silence is not doing anything, not even to the point of commenting on those who are doing it.

You really stink at this. Seems every Friday you need a beating like this and by next week you've forgotten. Idiot.

Silence was also used by St. Thomas More. They tried pinning the silence is violence (treason) toward the king tactic. More replied, that his silence betokened no such thing in that in silence no one knows the inner thoughts of a man nor can silence be used as evidence for what can not be proven with any certitude.

Replace "Francis" with "Bush" and "faith" with "country" and this article reads like the splits that happened in families during the ballot re-counts for the 2000 US presidential election.

Families literally turned on each other. The holidays became a political war-zone and the dinner table the field where it was fought. When the Thanksgiving turkey was getting served, the recounts were still going, every court verdict affecting them gave one side or the other a fresh reason to shout in fury and denounce a political bias.

Things got said that Thanksgiving that could never be unsaid. When Chistmas arrived, many adult children and in-laws pointedly stayed home out of spite. Ha! That'll teach Mom 'n Dad! Loneliness became a weapon the young used against the old and kept using. After several years of such treament, parents re-wrote their wills leaving their assets to charities.

Disagreement had become a personal thing and that led to an equally personal hatred. It wasn't enough to disagree with the President. Instead, he was "Bushitler" and half the country cheered when he nearly choked to death on a pretzel.

Compared to the hate-culture directed at Mr. Trump today, that kind of malice seems almost quaint by comparison.

It's worse now. Friendsgiving, spending Thanksgiving with friends instead of family "exploded" over the past five years. Doing the math, it's easy to see that started literally the Thanksgiving following Mr. Trump's election win. There was no closely contested recount, which probably made the victory all the more bitter for the losers.

Hating the president's politics has grown to hating the president personally and venting that hatred on anyone supporting him. Witness all the well-documented physical violence against those wearing a red "MAGA" hat.

The current Pope, an equally divisive political figure is seeing the same personalized hatred.

It isn't enought to hate the Pope's studiious silence when Communist China persecutes Catholics or his endless concern about an entirly non-Catholic issue like climate change. Instead, he's "Bergoglio" and any argument, no matter how asinine, insane or contrived will do when claiming the Pope isn't the Pope.

The situation with Pope Francis is a reflection of a much larger problem in the way people treat each other today over many things.. Yes, the social climate on GTV is also a reflection of that as well.

So let's not blame the "Pope" or "Bergoglio" or the critics for dividing families, we've done this to ourselves.

If memory serves, Pope Francis said that he might go down in history as the pope who split the Church.

You have an excellent memory, ashame that is such a memorable statement though.

Very simple analysis,
Real holy people do not have a negative affect on the majority of people. A holy person brings light and healing and comfort to most people. Not confusion and weirdness....
It’s a no brainer, he is an anti pope
