Life after life...
Sunday, November 2nd Commemoration of All Souls
Saint Padre Pio used to say that the graces he asked of God came first through the intercession of the holy souls in Purgatory, rather than through the intercession of the saints.
Yes, dear brothers and sisters, what an amazing mystery we live in, what a beautiful thing it is to be part of the Holy Catholic Church, the Mystical Body of Christ, the New People of God who live in three dimensions:
the earthly one, which is us still pilgrims on earth;
the heavenly one, which is our brothers and sisters who are already in Heaven;
and the purgatory one, which is our brothers and sisters who died in God's grace, but not yet completely purified and who eagerly await in Holy Purgatory the moment of their definitive entry into Heaven.
They can do nothing for themselves, but they can do much for us by interceding with God. We can help them by having Holy Mass celebrated for them, through prayer, and through corporal and spiritual works of mercy for our brothers and sisters, especially the littlest, the poor, and the outcast ones.
