I would like to suggest a project to Gloria.tv. (or any one else with time and capacity). I call it: collect the "dots" and than connect them so as to produce an "outline". The dots I am referring to are statements by Pp Francis. The News Brief above notes the "dot" that the Pope prays for all the children to be born in 2014 and neglects to mention the millions+++ that will not be born because of abortion. No big deal, just a sort of oddity. Then I remember vaguely the Pope's derogatory remarks about those who pursue "pro-life" (= anti-abortion) activity. Here would be another "dot". No big deal, but a bit odd. Then there is the "dot" seen in the Pope's speculations that, perhaps, Mary, witnessing the crucifixion, might have doubted God, indeed, thought that God had lied. That is certainly a significantly "odd" remark to make. Can this "dot" eventually be connected with the other ones mentioned? I could go on and on (if my memory were photographic) with other "dots", but not here. I ask myself if a collection of the "odd" statements or deeds (e.g., hiring an open homosexual firm) might gradually be connectable such that a reasonably certain "outline" of the "true" and "in depth" Pope Francis might appear. At the moment I have the impression that traditionalists (including myself) are reacting this way or that, but not with full coherence. The reason for this failure of coherence is the lacking "outline".
I note the Louie Verrecchio in his blog has evaluated Pp Francis as a "
material heretic" and the Bp Fellay has written a series of articles arguing that Pp Francis is a "modernist". Such claims constitute "outlines", but are, in my opinion, premature and far from an all-embracing insight (though a good start). Who is really behind the mask called Pope Francis?
