Priest Arrested on Homosexual Solicit Prostitution Charges

Father Clemente Olvera Guerrero, 47, of St Ann's Church in Clayton, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with soliciting prostitution from a 20-year-old man, according to JoCoReport.com.

During an unrelated search for a missing person at around 1 a.m. on 4 August, a police officer spotted the young man and another man inside a vehicle in St. Ann’s car park. The latter tried to flee on foot, but was promptly arrested and charged with solicitation of prostitution.

The priest had allegedly arranged to meet the 20-year-old via the homosexual dating app Grindr.

According to investigators, this may not have been the priest’s first encounter of this nature on church property.

The Diocese of Raleigh confirmed the arrest, adding that the priest had been immediately removed from the ministry. His priestly faculties have been revoked pending further legal and canonical review.
