Cardinal Polycarp Pengo of Dar es Salaam warned the Tanzanian government to be careful in accepting money from the Western regimes “as they will stop supporting us if we are against homosexuality” (amecea.blogspot.com, November 30).
The Cardinal underlined that it is better "to die of hunger" than to receive "aid" tied to the obligation to do things "contrary to God’s desire.” “Accepting homosexuality is denying God”, he explained.
Pengo brought to mind that the sin of homosexuality was the cause of destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, "These things are contrary to God's plan in creation and should not be accepted at all.”
