Archbishop Viganò Warns the Bishops

According to the Concordat between the Holy See and Italy, jurisdiction over places of worship belongs exclusively to the bishop, not to the Prime Minister, Archbishop Carlo Maria Viganò told AldoMariaValli.it (April 29).

He criticises that during the coronavirus crisis the Bishops’ Conference and almost all bishops submitted to the State in an unprecedented way.

For him, this is motivated by conflicts of interest:

• The Vatican Secretary of State Parolin is the political sponsor of the leftwing Italian prime-minster Giuseppe Conte and has chosen his and not the Church’s side.

• The Italian bishops are involved in the illegal immigration business of which they are beneficiaries and strenuous promoters.

Viganò warns the bishops that they will have to answer to God, not to the President of the Bishops Conference that has no authority over them, nor to the Prime-Minister.

Vigano: If the coronavirus really is so virulent and deadly that it justifies the sequestering of the entire world, well then: is it really precisely in this moment that the sacraments are being denied to everyone, right when they are most needed for eternal salvation?
Tesa
Vigano: Bishops, your priests are not fearful: they are heroic witnesses, and they are suffering from the arbitrary orders you have given them. Your faithful are imploring you: do not remain deaf to their cry!
Tesa
Vigano: Bishops, the Lord will ask you to give an account for the souls who die without the Sacraments, for the fact that you made it so that, for the first time since the Edict of Constantine [in 313], the faithful were prohibited from worthily celebrating Easter.

Viganò: This is a situation of subordination to the State that has no precedent, and that has rightly been perceived by the faithful and by priests as a situation in which they have been abandoned to themselves.

It's not, directly, the new "China model", but the new "China-Vatican secret treaty model": China goes first...

Regardless of actual jurisdiction, the world's bishops have, almost to a man, decided to "comply" with government orders for governing the Church.
