South Korea: The Catholic Boom Is Over

The number of Catholics in South Korea will grow by no more than 0.2% by 2021, compared to 3% a few years ago. Catholics make up 11.3% of the population.

The average age of the faithful is increasing and after Covid-19, Sunday Mass attendance fell from 18.3% in 2019 to 8.8%, AsiaNews.it (May 1) writes.

Last year, there were 883 students in diocesan seminaries and 254 in religious orders, 28.4% less than in 2011.
