Gospel of Sunday November 13. XXXIII of the Ordinary Time
In the passage from the Gospel of Luke, which we’re going to listen to on Sunday November 13, we see how in the face of the pride aroused by the majesty of the Temple of Jerusalem, the words of Jesus sound like a whiplash for those who put their trust in the work of their hands and not in God’s mercy.
"Stone will not be left on stone that will not be destroyed!"
The message that Jesus wants to give us is clear: Facing with upheavals and terrifying events occurring in the world which have the power to bring down the false certainties on which sometimes even believers base their lives, the Son of God indicates the only "Way out": that is perseverance in fidelity to his Word "which alone reveals itself to be fruitful in greater and more surprising possibilities and new beginnings" (Pope Francis)
