I wonder if Gandhi, believed in the devil????

Holyrope - That's a very good question. He said that he couldn't accept the idea of Jesus having been the most perfect human being there was and that he couldn't accept that Jesus died for our sins. I suppose he must have seen a good example in Jesus but didn't believe in His divine authority.
The church in India seems to honour Gandhi. I also question if it is fully justified.

In the context of this homily though, Gandhi's words serve the point that the priest is trying to make about the need for us to fulfill what Jesus commanded. Regardless of Gandhi, we still need to live up to what it is that Jesus commanded about loving each other, for that is the essence of our Christian identity.

God Bless,

If Mehatma Ghandi knew so well the Christian faith and spoke so highly of it and of Jesus, why didn't he become a Christian? 😊
