Conventual Sisters straighten out “Mass of the Ages”

A reader alerted me to this review of the Mass of the Ages films produced by the Conventual Sisters of St Dominic in Australia. It’s available …

@Strong and Steadfast That is precisely the point. @Strong and Steadfast That is precisely the point. These Sisters attempted -- and are hardly qualified -- to do a series of one-dimensional amateur videos on pure aesthetics -- rather than theological, historical substance -- regarding a topic that requires entire books and experts in the theology of the historical liturgy to explain the full nature of the destruction which took place (the catastrophic fruits of which speak for themselves).

For a sound grasp of the topic, you could begin with Michael Davies -- you'll be equipped for life with a clear understanding of the matter:

Cranmer's Godly Order: The Destruction of Catholicism Through Liturgical Change (Liturgical Revolution)

Liturgical Time Bombs In Vatican II: Destruction of the Faith through Changes in Catholic Worship

Mike Lewis shamelessly reprises the old lies.
Strong and Steadfast
Which lies are those? Would you mind taking the time to expound on those? I have my own thoughts, but I am not incredibly learned on the matter. A good article, arguing point by point with the Conventual Sisters video, would be helpful and appreciated.

Oh if only the NO could be like the Traditional Latin Mass.
Tony Smith
These lies have already been refuted by Trad Catholics many times over.
Strong and Steadfast
Perhaps, but the specific arguments are difficult to find online, currently. As I asked @Prayhard above, a solid point-by-point refutation would be welcome.

The blind leading the blind.....defending the absolutely defenseless destruction of a Mass hallowed and perfected by centuries of sacred worship, codified at Trent precisely to preserve it for all future generations from the malice of the Church's enemies...and pretending that anything could justify the deconstruction of such a Mass by the conniving of a known Mason, is to collaborate with …More
The blind leading the blind.....defending the absolutely defenseless destruction of a Mass hallowed and perfected by centuries of sacred worship, codified at Trent precisely to preserve it for all future generations from the malice of the Church's enemies...and pretending that anything could justify the deconstruction of such a Mass by the conniving of a known Mason, is to collaborate with satan's attack on the Church. By the very fruits of this treason, one can easily see the diabolic at work.

These Sisters -- who are fulfilling the role of propagandists which they accuse others of -- are completely out of their depth, and would have done far better to simply have remained silent rather than give credence to such an upspeakably evil injustice and rupture with the Church's Patrimony before God, the Angels and Saints, and before the company of heavenly hosts of souls who over the centuries worshiped at and were sanctified by the Mass of the Ages.

The Podcast rebuttal to the film, seems to indicate the position of Pope Benedict, a reform of the reform-with the belief that the NO can be celebrated with all the traditional elements that the TLM has, which the nuns believe was the way it was intended by the Vat II Church Father's, and they way their order celebrates Mass.

I think they are mistaken in thinking that traditional elements can save the NO and restore the Church. Wait until a liberal bishops demands that they can no longer have their traditional elements citing the latest Motu Proprio and that they have to enliven and jazz things up. It will be enough to cause cognitive dissonance and some will start attending a TLM.

What these ill-informed, naive and completely unqualified Sisters fail to see is that the very fact that a rupture has taken place after 2,000 years, attempting to abrogate a Mass whose ancient origins began with the Apostles, and replacing it with a man-made construct in consultation with Protestants in order to de-nature the Mass of its absolutely Catholic theological essence is irreparable.

There can be no "reform of the [so-called] reform" that simply discards the ancient liturgy and replaces it with a Protestantized version that's "reverent". Even the Episcopalian Church has a "reverent" Protestant liturgy.

It was an outrageous, diabolical act of destruction of the Church's Patrimony, and no allegedly "faithful" Catholic should dare to defend it and cloak it in "reverence".

The Dominican Novus Ordo does incorporate many of the traditional elements from the TLM i.e. communion on the tongue, kneeling rails, Latin and chant albeit in the vernacular, and the priest ad orientum. The Dominican Novus Ordo does incorporate many of the traditional elements from the TLM i.e. communion on the tongue, kneeling rails, Latin and chant albeit in the vernacular, and the priest ad orientum. The Dominican Sister makes a couple good rejounders to "The Mass of the Ages" film- a focus on emotive arguments over substance but one, also, finds this rhetoric in every film produced by enthusiasts. We can see these elements, for example in Bishop Baron's film on Catholicism- Word on Fire 🔥 Moreover, another good point, that not all pre-Vatican II TLM's were as excellent and beautiful as the masses by the SSPX, FSSP, and Traditional Benedictines. Too many were poorly rushed through by the priest in a mediocre fashion with people just praying their rosary, and waiting for communion. However, the Sister agrees with many of the traditionalists arguments critiquing the Novus Ordo Masses poorly done. The difficulty she fails to address is the heart of the NO mass itself, which is formlessness. Yes, you can celebrate the NO in a dignified and traditional way, but the General Instructions allow for great variations and styles. These variations, the Jazz Mass, Clown Mass, Children's mass, Teen Life Mass, Balloon Mass, are in no way liturgical abuses but are within the flexible-fluid nature of the NO liturgy itself.

I'm not sure if downvoting has any effect, but here's the video: EXTENDED PODCAST Review of ‘Mass of the Ages (Ep. 2): “Straightening Things Out”.

Noticed they turned the comments off. No rebuttal to their rebuttal allowed, apparently.
