Cantori Romani sub Msgr. Antonio Rella cecinerunt κύριε in Missa Gregoriana aput Basilicam S. Petri zazzle.com/ProVaticanus Record label: Victor Record - The Gregorian High Mass - Kyrie Eleison (Last edition of Solesmes) - Recorded in St. Peter's, Rome - in the centenary of St Gregorius Magnus - Direction Mons. Rella, of the Sistine Chapel - Rome. This is the opening of the earliest recording of the Gregorian Chant, taken in Saint Peter's on 11 April 1904 for the Gramophone and Typewriter Company. The Victor catalog issued the following statement (or perhaps warning) apropos these recordings "It cannot be denied that these Gregorian Chant records are somewhat monotonous, except to those especially interested". Sure enough this is a drastic departure from the romantic style prominently featured on red seal discs of this time and would probably be a shock to anyone used to nothing but the singing style of Melba and Patti. Invocatio ex vocativo verbi Graeci κύριος, "Dominus" et imperativo ἐλέησον verbi ἐλεέω, "misereri". Kyrie eleison est una ex duabus precibus Graecis in liturgia Ecclesiae Catholicae Romanae servatis. Altera prex Graeca in Improperiis Feriae Sextae in Passione Domini invenitur. Textus Cantus Kyrie de Missa XI (Orbis Factor). Verba huius orationis sunt: Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) Christe eleison. (Χριστὲ ἐλέησον) Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) Antiqua versio (utitur in missis poliphonicis): S. Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) M. Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) S. Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) M. Christe eleison. (Χριστὲ ἐλέησον) S. Christe eleison. (Χριστὲ ἐλέησον) M. Christe eleison. (Χριστὲ ἐλέησον) S. Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) M. Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) S. Kyrie eleison. (Κύριε ἐλέησον) Haec verba Latine sonant: Domine, miserere. Christe, miserere. Domine, miserere. #Kyrie #Vinyl #Vatican Pantocrator ('universi imperator') vel plene Christus Pantocrator (Graece Χριστὸς Παντοκράτωρ), in iconographia Christiana est certa depictio Iesu Christi atque in Iudaismo unum e multis nominibus ad Deum adhibitis. Bibliis Hebraicis in Graecum ut Septuaginta conversis, vocabulum Pantokrator nomen El Shaddai, titulum Hebraicum, expressit, nam Christiani hanc appellationem ad Iesum contulerunt, qui secundum evangelium Matthaei (28:18) dixerat: "Data est mihi omnis potestas in caelo et in terra." Iconica Christi Pantocratoris imago fuit una e primis imaginibus Iesu quas Prima Ecclesia Christiana excoluit, et gravissima Ecclesiarum Orthodoxarum icon manet. patreon.com/ProVaticanus
