One wife for seven brothers.

One wife for seven brothers November 10, 2019 XXXII Sunday of Ordinary Time In the passage of the Gospel of Luke that we will listen on Sunday, November 10, the Sadducees who do not believe in the resurrection thinking of being able to make fun of Jesus propose the story of the woman married with seven brothers because they, one by one, die without leaving offspring. A story that end with the last "tricky question": whose wife she will be in the resurrection? Jesus makes use of this evident provocation to try to open the mind and heart of the Sadducees: "Those who are worthy of the resurrection will not have a husband or wife, but will be like the angels of heaven ..." THat's the wonderful truth, dear brothers and sisters, Jesus came into the world, as Pope Francis reminds us, to reveal that the meaning and purpose of our life on earth is the Resurrection! And that "the bridge that connects the earth with the Heaven" is Charity that is nothing more than true, authentic, pure love. The love that comes from God poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, Who was given to us. Dear brothers and sisters: What a joy gives us the certainty that every thought, every word, every act of pure love for our brothers, especially the poorest ones, makes ours today that we live a resurrection dawn!
