Cardinal Zuppi Will Sing Vespers in Roman Rite at Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage
Cardinal Zuppi first sang the Catholic Vespers at the Pantheon in 2022 (pictured).
Cardinal Zuppi is a pro-homosexual and pro-environmental ideologue with some tolerance towards Roman rite Catholics. As auxiliary bishop in Rome, he celebrated Mass according to the 1962 Missal. As Archbishop of Bologna, he permitted the continuation of Latin Masses following the restrictions imposed by Traditionis Custodes.
Founded in 2012, the Summorum Pontificum pilgrimage brings together priests and Catholics from around the world in Rome each year. The event includes a solemn Vesper, processions, and conferences. Until the publication of Traditionis Custodes in 2021, it also featured a Pontifical Mass in St Peter's Basilica; now, it features a Blessing instead.
In June, it was announced that Cardinal Raymond Burke had agreed to become the patron of the Summorum Pontificum Pilgrimage. It is unclear when and how he will participate.
