In France Preventing Suicide Is a "Crime"
The new French "crime" is similar to the "crime" of obstructing abortion. MPs also increased the penalty to two years in prison and a fine of €30,000. The article was adopted by 84 MPs against 49.
It is unclear how broadly this "offence of obstruction" will be interpreted. Some MPs raised the possibility of relatives trying to dissuade a parent.
MPs tried and failed to introduce an offence of incitement to assisted dying. This was rejected.
Since a 'right to abortion' was introduced in its constitution, France is no longer a country under the rule of law, but a form of criminal association.
