Hello, all -

Just a quick note about the above prayer.

The person who wrote it often writes a great deal of modernist non-Roman Catholic prayer, basically because he's not Roman Catholic. *wry smile* (And yes, even people in my own denomination sometimes think it's tripe. I'm certain that the great liturgies of the church had to go through many revisions before they became as beautiful as they are today.)

I'm an ordained minister of Word, Sacrament and Pastoral Care in The United Church of Canada, a protestant denomination in Canada. While I have a great deal of respect for the Roman Catholic church, my understanding of sacrament is, of course, different from that of my Roman Catholic siblings.

About the wearing of a mask... well... I, too, wish it weren't necessary. I pray, daily, that this virus will be brought under control, and the need for all of these physical distancing rules will be gone. May that day come soon!

May Christ's peace rest and remain with you, and may you and your loved ones be healthy and whole.

Not about a virus; not about masks.

Control.

"the sacrament in the wearing of this cloth" Wearing a mask is not a Catholic sacrament. (CCC 1210). Novus Ordo priests: currently denying the laity sacraments that do exist and making up ones that do not.

As the viral and bacterial load increases around my nose and mouth
Help me to see the cumulative effect of sin on my soul.
As I labour to inhale through this warm dirty fabric let it remind me of the dog returning to its vomit.
As I labour to exhale through my screen of filth spreading the load to neighbours and friends let it remind me of the pestilence of sin and its effects on all.😉

Faced with such I always wonder whether this is the lowest they can go. Nope!

Perhaps that’s why it is the bottomless pit.

@CatMuse We thank God and you for your talent.

We might have some disagreement about the science *grin*, but it does have a ring to it! ;)
