Dear brothers and sisters, the very strong words used by Jesus in the passage from the Gospel of Matthew we’re going to listen to next Sunday, November 27, first of Advent, should not frighten us, but, on the contrary, fill us with joy. Let's try to figure out why. How many times in the face of injustices gripping the world, our hearts are torn apart by a question: What does God do, why He doesn't intervene? Well, the answer to this question is, in its great simplicity, extraordinary: God is making a new creation!
Jesus' warning to stay awake is an invitation not to be afraid by the "night" of evil that makes life on earth "gloomy", but to overcome it with the light of God's Love because it's just from that night that God will make the dawn of the new creation arise…
