This frightens me. Not that payment systems can be blocked at seemingly any time for any reason, that's obvious.
But, what frightens me, is that somebody who I think of as a reasonably smart guy, doesn't already see this and take it for granted. It's a sign of a much bigger problem, and that is that, nowadays, most people do not understand the difference between virtual things and actual things. …More
This frightens me. Not that payment systems can be blocked at seemingly any time for any reason, that's obvious.
But, what frightens me, is that somebody who I think of as a reasonably smart guy, doesn't already see this and take it for granted. It's a sign of a much bigger problem, and that is that, nowadays, most people do not understand the difference between virtual things and actual things. And, even more frighteningly, I see this as the result of people (not necessarily Mr. West) being unable to distinguish between what is true and what is not true. (I'm reminded of the book Crucial Truths to Save Your Soul by Fr. Nicholas Gruner.)
Carry a wad a' hunnets, Mr. West, they're a lot closer to money than is an arbitrary RF signal.
