This is an in depth interview that took place over 2 years ago that demonstrates the state of mind of Cardinal Burke regarding Church traditional teachings and practice. What makes this interview so important is that it took place long before certain cardinals and indeed even Pope Francis initiated proposals to permit the reception of the Eucharist for adulterers. …More

This is an in depth interview that took place over 2 years ago that demonstrates the state of mind of Cardinal Burke regarding Church traditional teachings and practice. What makes this interview so important is that it took place long before certain cardinals and indeed even Pope Francis initiated proposals to permit the reception of the Eucharist for adulterers.
Whether or not Cardinal Burke would give a similar interview today knowing that it might embarrass the radical element in the Catholic Church is a subject for speculation. Nevertheless, this video clearly shows that, at least for Burke, there is absolutely no desire to compromise with respect to orthodoxy in spite of the personal attacks that are being levelled against him.
