Like Padre Pio? Does Francis' surgeon have the gift of bilocation?

Sergio Alfieri, the surgeon who operated twice on Francis' abdomen, is under investigation for falsifying documents.
He is alleged to have signed the surgery register at times when he was engaged in other activities.
This means that in many cases, Alfieri was not the one who operated on patients at the Policlinico Agostino Gemelli in Rome, even though he 'had performed' the surgery according to the paperwork.
According to FaroDiRoma.it (14 December), the motive for this alleged misconduct is unclear, as it doesn't seem that he benefited from it.

Investigation against Francis' surgeon

@Angie W. Whats the purpose of signing then? Should the resident sign if he performed the surgery?

Angie W.

Because the surgeon is the one in charge of the surgery department and not the resident.

Angie W.

Sometimes the Surgery resident does the surgery and then the Doctor signs. That is completely ethical and legal.
