There is no doubt that there has been a significant decline in the Church since Vatican II. I'm currently reading Iota Unum by Romana Americo who was a consultant to the Central Preparatory Commission on Vatican II. Although I lack understanding regarding some of the encyclicals and other things he sources, it's perfectly clear that Vat II spearheaded the current attempt to change Tradition in the Church, or better said, eliminate it and reestablish a Church that is more worldly. Whether some occurrences were intended or accidental is questionable at times, such as misinterpretations or intentional deceptions of translations of documents, especially keeping in mind the testimony of Bella Dodd and the infiltration which took place.

As far as JPII, he's questionable for sure, as is John XXIII and Paul VI. Personally, I am still unable to condemn them as popes mainly because I don't know what it was like for them, and as a Catholic I was taught not to judge the heart of a person/persons. Being a pope would be a terrific challenge, especially when the position requires good advisors and other people surrounding you. I'm not protecting or condemning them, but we don't really know whether they were or weren't mislead, so I prefer to leave that up to Christ. Thanks for the article!
