Two of Australia's elite Catholic schools, both run by Jesuits, St. Ignatius College in Sydney and Xavier College in Melbourne, have endorsed gay-pseudo-marriage. The schools rebuked a statement of the Australian bishops who called to vote “no” at a postal plebiscite about gay pseudo-marriage.
According to the Sydney Morning Herald the Jesuit schools stop “short of advocating a ‘yes’-vote”, but appeal to Pope Francis' alleged teachings on love, mercy and non-judgment, and urge the school community to dwell on their own consciences.
Graduates of the two schools include former Prime Minister Tony Abbott, Deputy Prime Minister Barnaby Joyce and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten.
