In such circumstances any therapy that desires to give a patient the power over homosexual inclinations must be grounded in accepted therapeutic procedures. There are certain therapies (incl Jung's) that can have a religious aspect, but the end of therapy must be the establishment of rational behavior, not moral behavior. That notwithstanding, rational behavior in its highest forms is moral behavior

@Dr Bobus: In which sense, you believe, JONAH should have been more prudent?

This is a mess. The judge seems incompetent, but JONAH perhaps could have been

more prudent in their approach.

1. I'm not a lawyer, but I think that for a judge to subjectively not allow experts in psychotherapy to testify because he disagrees with their conclusion is asking the decision to be overturned. And it manifests remarkable ignorance to compare this matter to whether the earth is flat.

2. Courts often judge subjectively, beginning with the decision, then trying to justify it on legal grounds.

The 2002 ruling of the Supreme Court of New Jersey in the Torricelli case, which contradicted the law and allowed Torricelli's name to be replace on the ballot, could not have passed a first year course in logic.

3. The Menninger Foundation, which at the time was as highly regarded as any psychiatiric hospital in the world, treated homosexuals. I also knew a Jewish psychologist (an atheist) who had treated homosexuals.

4. There is really no guarantee that psychological treatment can eliminate a homosexual inclination. Unlike, say, smoking, the client had almost nothing to do with the creation of the inclination. What psychotherapy can do is what my Jewish psychologist friend said he had done: If someone does not want to be homosexual, therapy can give them the power to control the inclination.

5. Carl Jung wrote c 1930 that homosexuality would become more and more prominent. The reason he gave, prescinding from analytic vocabulary, was that culture (including work) was becoming more and more unisex.

Dear Abramo,

Do you want to say that the U.S. have fallen to German levels and are ready to be taken over be foreigners?

To a point, it already has been taken over by illegal immigration and even natural born citizens who choose to identify more with their third world culture than to be absorbed in an American way of life.

.
The Obama administration is skewing the sentiment in the States to the far left. This partially accounts (along with a corrupt media) for the admitting of hundreds of thousands of unvetted animals, the promotion of homo marriage, 'transsexual rights', women in combat and the thugs who march in the BlackLivesMatter protests.
.
Here's a quote that makes the point much better than I could. Teddy Roosevelt who was the 26th President of the United States and the youngest to ever occupy the Oval Office said:
.
We should insist that if the immigrant who comes here does in good faith become an American and assimilates himself to us he shall be treated on an exact equality with every one else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed or birth-place or origin.
.
But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American. If he tries to keep segregated with men of his own origin and separated from the rest of America, then he isn’t doing his part as an American. There can be no divided allegiance here.
.
. . We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language, for we intend to see that the crucible turns our people out as Americans, of American nationality, and not as dwellers in a polyglot boarding-house; and we have room for but one soul loyalty, and that is loyalty to the American people.

"Judge Bariso excluded several leading conversion therapy proponents, ... from testifying as defense experts Ruling that their opinions were based on the false premise that homosexuality is a disorder" This is in sane 🤦 If one is a religious person and his beliefs tell him that something is a disorder, he is not allowed to testfy in court. This is a clear case of discrimination 🤮

Dear Abramo, Yes, Europe needs to be more compassionate like the U.S. under Barack Hussein and defend the indefensible even though German Chancellor Angela Merkel (along with bleeding heart clerics) is letting her family, children and country get eaten by hyenas. Meanwhile Western Europe is stumbling over its shoestrings to guard Islam and the concept of “tolerance'.

.
Merkel's learning curve may be steep, but she will --- I predict --- get rid of the predators and parasites even before the States. I hope she can still extend welcome to the true innocents and allies: the Christians, the Yazidis and the tough, anti-ISIS Kurds.
.
The big, BIG underlying problem, is that German's birth rate and fertility rate have been cratered for 40+ years. They made the world's most obvious existential mistake: failure to procreate. They have very few young Germans. They are perhaps the first --- but will not be the last --- nation to commit suicide by contraception.
.
They have foolishly thought they could build a German future on Turks.
.
P.S. Happy Martin Luther King Day. You likely do not celebrate it where you are but as we say in the states, let us all "CELEBRATE DIVERSITY."

@Uncle Joe: It is though surprising that the extremist positions of such an extremist organization are promoted by a regular court in the U.S., isn't it? Are these extremist positions the "Western values" we are supposed to defend?

Having said that it's important to never lose site of the fact that the SPLC took shape when its founder, Morris Dees, began making money claiming to defend the 'rights of the poor.' The organization recently lost any remnants of credibility as a result of unrelenting attacks against Christians who believe that marriage is between one man and one woman. The SPLC refers to these churches and individuals as hate groups and homophobes. It has even labeled presidental candidate Ben Carson an extremist for supporting traditional marriage. The SPLC has been pleased to marginalize the majority of the American people who do not believe that same-sex marriage is a right.
.
There are countless individuals and organizations in the crosshairs of the SPLC, including gun owners, conservative internet sites, talk radio, militia members, folks who oppose Common Core and politicians who rightly accuse the Obama Administration of overstepping the bounds laid down in our founding documents. All are hate groups according to Dees, spreading fear throughout the nation.
.
This hate-filled organization and its money-grubbing founder, Morris Dees, whose slander against conservatives and Christians was mentioned in a federal terrorism case, have released another 'Intelligence Report.' Who are the "conspirators' that the SPLC wants investigated? Anyone to the right of Obama.
