Unity in Blasphemy: Real Existing Novus Ordo Desecrates Holy Cross

A travesty. Not only the processional crucifix but also the way the chalice and ciborium (presumably with blessed hosts) are left unattended behind everyone's back. Very common among Novus Ordo parishes even here in Murrica. I wish I had a dollar for every church I've visited while travelling and found: 1.) a small table just like this one with everything for an upcoming Mass laid out and completely unattended. Father is either in the confessional or in a side room out of sight.2.) The Host on display with no one in adoration, no one even watching. Sacristan? what sacristan? 3.) The tabernacle closed, locked, with the key still visibly in the lock for convenience's sake.

Anyone could walk in and make off with anything they please for whatever horrid reasons. Worse, pastors of such chruches get miffed when I politely and utmost deference to their authority and office point out that fact. I've given up trying to explain, they just don't want to hear it.

Consider the instances we have all heard about when priests have been reprimanded for, say, preaching against suicide at the funeral of one who committed this horrible sin. Someone who only darkens the doorstep of a church at funerals or weddings calls the chancery to complain, and a hammer comes down on the priest. Then, consider instances like the one pictured, which are common. Our Lord has no one to plead for Him, or, the bishop ignores the complaint, because it is lodged by a daily communicant, whom he sees as a “fundamentalist,” and thus worthy of being ignored. This is the reality. It will not change as long as they are able to continue.
