Pope Francis' Policies Are Influenced By A Communist Woman

French sociologist Dominique Wolton asks Pope Francis in a new interview-book about women with a major influence on his life. Francis answers, that he owes “so much” to Esther Ballestrino (1918-1977), “She was communist.”

Francis says that Ballestrino taught him “to think about political reality” and passed on to him literature and periodicals that were “all communist”.

Ballestrino, a married woman with three daughters, worked for the food section at Hickethier-Bachmann Laboratory in Buenos Aires, where Jorge Mario Bergoglio was for a while as one of her subordinates.
