For the signal...
INITIAL SENTENCE
O Mary, Mother of mercy: remember the children you have in purgatory and, presenting our suffrages and your merits to your Son, intercede so that he may forgive them their debts and take them out of those darkness into the admirable light of his glory, where they enjoy your sweetest sight and that of your blessed Son.
O glorious Patriarch Saint Joseph, intercede together with your Wife before your Son for the souls of purgatory. Amen.
It is read about every day.
DAY 9
Meditation
Intensity of the penalty of damage.
The loss of an object is all the more sensitive the more its merit is known, its qualities are appreciated and greater gratitude is professed; these reflections increase the punishment of harm in Paradise. Oh, how sublime knowledge those blessed souls have of God! They knew him in life with the light of reason, with the light of faith and with the special illustrations of his grace, but they knew him better when he left this world and, notably, when in the particular judgment after death they were presented to him, and he printed in his mind such a vivid image of himself that his understanding can no longer deal with anything else but God. And we, oh Christians!, turn our thoughts to our God. From the knowledge of understanding, the deliberation of the will is born, and if the object contemplated by the mind is good, we feel attracted to it, love is generated in our heart. But who better than God, who is the source of true goodness, the piélago of all perfection? Hence it is that by directing their gazes towards him, both by the natural desire, and by the impulses of charity, divine love is fanned and ignited in such a way in the holy souls of Purgatory, which are already all and entirely of God, and burn all for God, but in the meantime they are there detained, they are deprived of the sight of the beloved good. Let's imagine, then, the cravings and pain that torments them. Ouch! Why is our heart so cold? How does it not also ignite in divine love? Let us love God greatly in this life and then we can expect to enjoy him without taking a long time in Purgatory. God is not only good in himself, but he is also good with us and every day he fills us with his benefits. What we have, everything is his; as much as we have, we will have only his. Whether in the soul, whether in the body, in this life or in the next, he is the author of all our good. How much, then, should be the gratitude for such a generous benefactor? The souls of Purgatory feel it well, who, in the economy of their eternal health, recognize one by one the graces to them dispensed by the Lord. They would like to show their gratitude to their feet and give him due thanks, but the happy moment has not yet arrived, and the more he is delayed, the more his grief increases. We can anticipate it with votes, and why don't we do it?
Prayer
Ah! Lord, see us here ready to do everything to free those souls from Purgatory and send them happily ever after to Heaven. Increase your light of grace with your light of glory; let the flame of your pure love be satiated with the possession of the Summo Good; let the feeling of your gratitude be stinged out with the longed-for vent at the feet of your benefactor. Deign, oh great God!, to fulfill their fervent desires, which we promise for them, always humiliate our understanding in gift of faith, consume our heart in a fire of charity, consecrate all our affection in veneration and gratitude to you, whom we pray that you accept our humble offerings, in rescue of those unhappy souls who suffer so much. Amen.Eternal Father, for the most precious blood of Jesus, mercy.

Let's pray. Oh my God, of whom it is proper to have compassion and forgiveness: we beg you pleading for the souls of your servants whom you have ordered to migrate from this world, especially for the souls of our relatives, friends and benefactors (they can be named by their proper name), so that you do not leave them in purgatory, but that you order your holy angels to take them and take them to the homeland of paradise, so that, because they waited and believed in you, they do not suffer the sorrows of purgatory, but possess the eternal joys. For Christ our Lord. Amen.
V. Give them, Lord, eternal rest.
R. And shine for them perpetual light.
V. Rest in peace.
R. Amen.
