Miravalle, known for his teaching at Franciscan University of Steubenville and as president of the International Marian Association, Mario Luigi Cardinal Ciappi wrote a groundbreaking foreword at the time. As theologian of the papal household from Pius XII to John Paul II, he was very familiar with the scientific dimension of the subject matter.
