Poland: Archbishop Admits "Devastating" Decline

There has been a “devastating” decline in religious practice among young people in Poland, Gniezno Archbishop Wojciech Polak, the Primas of Poland, told the Polish Press Agency PAP (NotesFromPoland.com, January 3).

He pointed to data from November 2021 showing that less than 25% of young Poles regularly practise religion. In the early 1990s, the figure was almost 70%.

Polak believes that the decline is due to the homosexual abuse propaganda. This interpretation is even questioned by Krakow Archbishop Marek Jędraszewski who argued that the Church has been a “victim” of Covid-measures and young people’s use of technology.

In reality, Poland's Church has been subjected for decades to liturgical decline, a wishy-washy John Paul II theology, an unmotivated clergy, and a pastoral ideology inclined to please everybody except God.
