"Betrayal and Shame": Washington Archbishop's Appointment Reveals Francis' Priorities
"We are called to proclaim that everyone [except Catholics] on this journey is welcome, embraced in God's love", he claimed.
He singled out immigration as a likely point of contention between himself and the incoming Trump administration, calling the promised deportations of illegal immigrants "incompatible with Catholic teaching."
In addition, Cardinal McElroy, an propagandist of homosexualism, used his key words of "betrayal and shame" to attack the Church. He invented a "massive betrayal of the young to sexual abuse and the moral and financial reckoning of that betrayal that lies ahead."
He arrogantly added that in this mixture of failures "we are no different from the Lord's first disciples" [= apostles].
Biographical and Heretical Notes
Cardinal McElroy, 70, was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of San Francisco in 1980. He was named auxiliary bishop of San Francisco in 2010 and bishop of San Diego in 2015. Francis created him a Cardinal in 2022.
The prelate is a fitting successor to homosexual Theodore McCarrick, whom he helped to protect.
Richard Sipe, who worked with homosexual abusive priests, warned McElroy about McCarrick's proclivities in 2016, two years before they became widely known. McElroy voted against the U.S. bishops' petition asking the Vatican for more transparency and speed in the McCarrick investigation.
In January 2023, Cardinal McElroy called for "radical inclusion" for homosexuals and adulterers, including Communion, drawing criticism from Archbishop Samuel Aquila, Archbishop Joseph Naumann, and Bishop Thomas Paprocki. The latter called Cardinal McElroy's demands heretical.
Cardinal McElroy subsequently wrote that Catholic teaching on the grave nature of "all sexual sins" was an invention of the seventeenth century.
Homosexual activist James Martin SJ called McElroy today "one of the brightest and most capable clerics in the entire US church".
It is a truism that homosexual propaganda is no way to renew the Church but to push it deeper into decadence and decay.
