Silent film. Sisters of Providence leave in an automobile; then footage of mothers with children, and babies being weighed and examined in a clinic, likely as part of a "homecoming" wherein children who were born at a hospital were brought back for periodic check-ups (a documented practice at Providence hospitals in what was then Sacred Heart Province). Previously identified as Providence Hospital in Seattle; however, the small amounts of background shown make the film much more likely taken in Oakland. There are palms visible, and one of the houses shown compares favorably with a house that appears in a still photograph of the construction of the hospital in 1926. Digitized from original 16mm film at Providence Archives, Seattle, Washington. For more information see www.providence.org\archives ©Providence Archives, Seattle, Washington
