Nowhere Special is a 2020 internationally co-produced drama film written, directed, and produced by Uberto Pasolini. It stars James Norton and Daniel Lamont, set in Northern Ireland.

It had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival on 10 September 2020, and was theatrically released in the United Kingdom on 16 July 2021.

The action takes place in Northern Ireland. John, a 30-something window cleaner, has been raising his 4-year-old son Michael alone since his mother returned to Russia without leaving an address. Suffering from a fatal and incurable disease, he wishes to choose the ideal adoptive family for his little boy. He visits, in the company of his child and Shona, a social services employee, several families recognized as suitable for adoption. These families, of very different social classes and compositions, all tell him that they have a lot of love to give to his son.

Over the weeks, John's illness worsens, and he is forced to stop his professional activity. Michael slowly realizes what is happening, and John finds the courage and the words to tell him about his impending death. They meet a young single woman, who has always regretted having to give up the child she had when she was a teenager. Today sterile, she ardently wishes to adopt in her turn. It is to her that John will finally decide to entrust Michael.
