New Austrian Bishop Has Male Homosexual Secretary

In January 2025, the frail Pope Francis - along with Cardinal Robert Prevost, who was then Prefect of the Congregation for Bishops - appointed Auxiliary Bishop Johannes Freitag of Graz-Seckau, Austria. He was consecrated a bishop on 1 May.

His secretary and master of ceremonies is a certain Domenik Kainzinger-Webern. In July, 2018, he contracted a homosexual "marriage".

CouleurStudent.at reports on the homosexual secretary of the auxiliary bishop, noting that his professional, political and religious career has been capricious.

Kainzinger-Webern worked in the tailoring department of Theater Service Graz GmbH and performs as a musician (clarinet). In 2016, he was responsible for the costumes in the opening show of the 'Tuntenball', a homosexual event, in Graz (pictured right).

In 2017, he stood as a candidate for the Austrian Social Democratic Party in the parliamentary elections. He then switched to the liberal NEOS party, for which he stood in the 2019 regional elections in Styria. Both attempts were unsuccessful.

He was secretary general of the Jewish Community of Graz until 2025.
