Even God gets angry!

Even God gets angry! April 19 2020 Divine Mercy Sunday Dear brothers and sisters, in these days has been published the book of Fr. Aldo Martin, professor of exegesis and director of the Higher Institute of Religious Sciences from the Diocese of Vicenza, Italy, with a provocative title, especially in these times: "Even God gets angry" . In this beautiful book, the author makes us understand that the several passages in both the Old and New Testaments that speak of the wrath and judgment of God are not to be despised nor underestimated. In fact, these passages are not in contradiction with the revelation that God is Love, but they confirm it. The truth is that God loves humanity so much that he gets angry against evil, especially moral evil, that makes man suffer. In fact, sin separating man from God, his Creator, degrades him, making him live in that subhuman condition to which the image of the prodigal son eager to feed on the acorns of pigs clearly refers. The liturgy of Sunday, April 19, Feast of Divine Mercy, reminds us that Jesus comes into this world to reveal to us the unheard beauty and purity of God's merciful love. The closed "door" of an unbelieving heart, the root of all moral evil, is an obstacle to God's mercy in bringing us salvation. Jesus' urgent invitation to Thomas to take seriously, to become aware "first hand" of the scars of His love, in fact, it is the invitation addressed to every man and woman of all times not to be faithless any longer but a believer!
