Did Benedict Stop Wilmer?

Hildesheim Bishop Heiner Wilmer, Germany, was prevented as future Prefect of the CDF, by the intervention of several cardinals, LifeSiteNews.com (January 6) confirms citing anonymous sources.

But Wilmer's appointment may have only been delayed by Benedict's illness and death.

Allegedly, Benedict XVI was shocked about Wilmer's heterodoxy and saw such an appointment as a betrayal of his heritage.

But it is also the question whether he'll be around long enough to do radical things with his new prefect.
