Cardinal Parolin Denies Involvement in Rumoured Restriction of Latin Mass

Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Vatican’s Secretary of State, denied an involvement in alleged new restrictions on the Roman Rite Mass.

He wrote to LifeSiteNews.com (September 10): "With apologies for the delay, I am responding to your e-mail … stating that the media reports about a role of mine in the 'Latin Mass' issue are completely unfounded. I can only be saddened that false news is being circulated, but my defense is the Lord (cf. Ps. 7)."

Parolin had been named in a June report by RemnantNewspaper.com, along with Archbishop Celestino Migliore, Nuncio to France, and Cardinal Claudio Gugerotti, Prefect of the Dicastery for Eastern Churches, as being the three collaborators in drafting a new document with further restrictions on the Mass.

Monsignor Migliore and Cardinal Gugerotti have already previously denied any involvement in the alleged document.

If the document exists, it is rumored to have been written by Archbishop Vittorio Francesco Viola, Secretary of the Congregation for the Liturgy.

I believe him when he said he hadnothing go do with recent liturgical changes. No doubt he was so busy sacrificing Chinese Catholics to the Xi govt that he had no time for anything else.
