Cardinal Raises Questions on Pope Francis: In his interview with cruxnow.com retired Chicago Cardinal Francis George admits that because of the Synod of Bishops Pope Francis has lost credibility among Catholics. Quote: “The question is raised, why doesn’t he himself clarify controversial things? Why is it necessary that apologists have to bear that burden of trying to put the best possible face on it? Does he not realize the consequences of some of his statements, or even some of his actions? Does he not realize the repercussions? Perhaps he doesn’t. I don’t know whether he’s conscious of all the consequences of some of the things he’s said and done that raise these doubts in people’s minds.”
Used and Misused: In the same interview Cardinal George speaks about one of the things he would like to ask Pope Francis. Quote: “Do you realize what has happened, just by that very phrase ‘Who am I to judge?’ How it’s been used and misused? It’s very …More

I've have seen the whole thing, is the type of stuff that makes you sick.

Is like the coran, it has many beautiful phrases but one lie is enough to know this book is a product of hell.

Is like that statement from Fr Barron "we hope there's no hell" Before he said that, he said it with many beautiful words, that cafeteria catholic would swallow, if not by Mr. Voris saying it was wrong, then that lie would've stand.

What about in the middle of the Synod "if the LAW doesn't take you to Christ, then the law is dead" talking about a complete disregard for tradition and a strange teaching. "We need to get rid of old structures, they are of no use" Why he would say that? Then you read the whole homily and it makes no sense at all, he is not calling to build new churches, he is calling for us to give in to new things... to "the God of surprises"

Jesus is the same, yesterday, now and will forever... Heb 13

But Francis knows best, knows more than Jesus and Solomon, yeap, Solomon who said there are no surprises... no new things.

Gloria reports the fire and who started the fire... the wolves.

I don`t agree with your complaint. Here`s why.
You appear to be asking for a more fair and balanced reporting
You want some point counter point argument. You are arguing for Bias in reporting.

Viz. Billy was seen pushing down the old lady, to get to the candy isle 1st. On the upside Billy`s mom said her son learned in the Boy scouts how to respect the his seniors, he`s always been a good boy.
If Billy did something bad, then say it.

I prefer a Catholic Site that treats Church Teaching, and Her Living Tradition, as something to be guarded and cherished.
Gloria.TV reports on things that pertain to the Bride of Christ: the Holy Catholic Church. if some cleric is doing something harmful to Her , and to the mystical body : I take offence, as I am hopeful you do also.

I am thankful for Gloria.TV They understand this is more important, than what you call a More Balanced Approach to the News

I also Disagree with your Hands off approach to certain Cardinals, and the Pope when reporting abuses of our faith: The Bride of Christ.

The Laity also have a voice, and are part of the Church Militant, They MUST show great Charity, and reserve when speaking about the Holy Father, but they are not bound to silence.

In fact Catholics NEED a News outlet like Gloria.TV so they may find news that has not had Bias introduced in order to make a Ugly item appear less ugly.

Thank you Gloria.TV for the news.

Ps.
I remember a similar complaint many years ago being launched against Fox news, By those that held a contrary opinion to what they reported.

Then it was an attempt to silence truth, I trust Lindsaywtf
your concern is in more good faith.

My issue is with Gloria TV News which as I've stated to you already only uses sources of news that support its narrative against Pope Francis - to deliberately choose to report what others say about the pope (the topic of my original post if you've seen it), especially others who take issue with him and not report on the many good things he has said and done except when it suits the agenda of Gloria TV News makes it nothing more than gossip - so yes, it's scandalous because it is a deliberate attempt to weaken the image of Pope Francis in the eyes of faithful Catholics. Gloria TV News could do a better job serving the truth if they expanded their coverage to include the wide variety of things he says, and even, dare I say it, to once in a while defend his words when there is cause for their defence (examples of which I have already given below). Is it fair to report mainly the bad things that are said about a person and not consider the good things? Does it make me a slanderer to point this out?

If we cross paths, I hope the first thing we do is pray together and then despite our differences, consider each other brothers in Christ. Despite my issues with your views about the state of the Church, I would still gladly receive the sacraments from you.

I can see the comments about joking etc, that's fine, I promise that Aussies have a sense of humour too.

I think we've both made our points of view clearly, I guess it's up to those who read them now to make up their minds in prayer. If you want it, I'll humbly leave the last word to you - God Bless

Thanks for making assumptions about my username before asking me what it means, this is exactly the issue I have with some people on this site, assuming the worst before confirming it with facts.

Just to clarify for you, since you didn't bother to ask first, I host a Catholic podcast called What the Faith. We are Australian Catholics who follow the teachings of the Church faithfully and want to share what we have with Catholics in Australia and around the world. Our listening community is very important to us and we want to show that God is still relevant in a society that is rapidly progressing towards secular culture.

The name What the Faith is a play on the WTF phrase which is used very often in film and television and in every day life by people to express despair, hopelessness and anger. We are planting the Catholic flag in this space by calling ourselves What the Faith and challenging people to think about their daily struggles in the context of faith, the free gift from God which He offers to us so that we can be in relationship with him.

I would have happily explained this to you @Temperance, there was no need to accuse me of smoking something.

If you are going to call Catholics who receive the same sacraments that you do (and will administer one day) neb-catholics then you are establishing a position of superiority over them - this is very pharisaic and ironic considering your resistance to this pope and WYD is based on a notion of trying to be faithful to the truth of Christ.

I would argue that your problems with the Pope are more protestant as is your opposition to the evangelising initiative of world youth day. I am not advocating the trashing of tradition, the abandonment of anything that happened before Vatican II or as you put it (strangely), some kind of devotion to Medjugorje apparitions or a feelings based faith - these are your words which may be true from some Catholics but not for all. Your sweeping generalisations are a concern to me.

WYD is not about dumping kids there and letting the Pope evangelise them. It is a pilgrimage with many opportunities (which are taken) to receive the sacraments and be in the prayerful presence of the pope. Your description of WYD shows that you don't actually know what happens there except maybe what you read. Is it really that bad to have a place where the sacraments are available in such a big way that they are taken up by many young people - can you as a priest to be really trash an event where the sacraments are administered in such high numbers?
