Sobering Truth behind New TruthSocial.com

Donald Trump’s loudly announced social network TruthSocial.com is reportedly just another offshoot of the open-source software Mastodon, Vice.com (October 21) writes.

Mastodon is a decentralised service. Everyone can put the software on a server, add preferences and designs, and connect his server to the others. Currently there are about 3.000 Mastodon servers ("instances"). One of them is “Gab.com.”

Mastodon is not a full functioning social network. It is possible to add minor features and gimmicks but the core of the software can hardly be improved as it runs on many different foreign servers. Software engineers consider Mastodon sluggish and unmaintainable.

Trump claimed that “all source code” is proprietary, however, Mastodon’s founder Eugen Rochko recognised his product after first screenshots were made public. If this is true, Trump is violating Mastodon’s licence that demands publishing of all changes made to the software.

Building a social network is more complex than Trump may think. Even Google shut down its social network Google+ because it failed.

Unlike TruthSocial.com, Gloria.tv is a true proprietary social network with its own source code. It is a fully developed and fully functioning social media that resists all kinds of enemies like hackers and spammers, and contains copyright and porn filters. Further, Gloria.tv is massively scalable to any number of users.

Thus, Gloria.tv is a unique online product. There is nothing comparable among Catholic or non-Catholic webpages. We therefore kindly ask you to support Gloria.tv with a small or big donation. Let’s make Gloria.tv great together.

Now that all these people gave away their priceless privacy for a computer program... taking the freedom is easy since they know so very much about how the users will respond to each and every stimuli (situation). It is modelled and better than 70% likely they can cause what is desired... with this computer program...

Now that we know this from near history, it does seem a terrible choice to jump from one marionette to another... imo
