Bishop Barron targets again the "fiercely traditionalist movement". It "has emerged within American Catholicism," and is "a self-devouring Catholicism."

The Evangelical Path of Word on Fire - Word on Fire

I commenced my writing career, roughly twenty-five years ago, as a critic of liberal Catholicism, which I referred to, in one of the first articles …

I'd comment over there, but effective criticism has an eerie way of getting deleted on such venues.

"but its ferocity is due to the scandals that have shaken the Church the past thirty years, especially the McCarrick situation."

Wrong. Its ferocity is due to the ideological scandals resulting from "the spirit of Vatican Council II". The creepy pedo abuse is insignificant in comparison.

"have risked stepping outside the confines of the Church"

...except they haven't. Criticizing one's leaders is not the same as abandoning the institution itself. If anything traditionalists are more "institutional" than the progressive modernists who keep introducing at times entirely uncanonical innovations.

"but it is indeed a self-devouring Catholicism."

Protip: "self-devouring" entities do not exhibit the growth or health of traditionalist Catholicism.

"Perhaps sensing this contradiction, they remain spitting-mad at anyone who would dare challenge them."

Perhaps they remain spitting mad because their right to attend the Church's liturgy is always being challenged.

"I commenced my writing career, roughly twenty-five years ago, as a critic of liberal Catholicism..."

And now, the author "stands with Vatican II, John Paul II, Pope Francis, the Catechism of 1992, and it takes as its mission the New Evangelization"

People who fight monsters should take care they don't become what they fight.

"I have argued that the extreme traditionalist Catholicism of the present day is self-consuming, for it attacks the very foundations of Catholicism itself."

...by staunchly adhering to those foundations, defending them from critics like this one, and promoting The Church ever further to the glory of God. Yeah, that's one hell of an attack.

He's been a bummer since his days as rector of St. Mary's Seminary in the Archdiocese of Chicago. Nothing has changed since then. Ask yourself who made him a bishop and it should answer all other questions about his veracity and integrity.

It would be refreshing if a bishop would target “fiercely innovative progressivist movements” in the Church, just once.

Barron directly contradicts our Lord Jesus, by promoting the false idea that there probably is no Hell, and if there is a Hell, it is probably empty.
The audacity to directly oppose Almighty God's Teachings, and not be cast out of the bishop's office, reveals the immensity of the subversion against our Holy Catholic Church.
Obviously, to be a Christian, Christ's Teachings are not debatable.
