“Jesus, however, does not come from the realm of the dead, which he has definitively left behind: on the contrary, he comes from the realm of pure life, from God…” Benedict XVI (Jesus of Nazareth, p. 269)

I’m not sure what the point is of these cartoons; they are not making anyone holier, instead they simply spread gossip and slander which only serves to destroy the truth. Instead of quoting a 95 year old atheist nut, why not quote the pope himself. This is Pope Francis:

I’m not sure what the point is of these cartoons; they are not making anyone holier, instead they simply spread gossip and slander which only serves to destroy the truth. Instead of quoting a 95 year old atheist nut, why not quote the pope himself. This is Pope Francis:

The grave is the place where no one who enters ever leaves. But Jesus emerged for us; he rose for us, to bring life where there was death, to begin a new story in the very place where a stone had been placed.”-Pope Francis. There are many.

Here’s another:

“In the Creed we repeat these words: "and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures". This is the very event that we are celebrating: the Resurrection of Jesus, the centre of the Christian message which has echoed from the beginning and was passed on so that it would come down to us. St Paul wrote to the Christians of Corinth: "I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received, that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the scriptures and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the Twelve" (1 Cor 15:3-5). This brief profession of faith proclaims the Paschal Mystery itself with the first appearances of the Risen One to Peter and the Twelve: the death and Resurrection of Jesus are the very heart of our hope. Without this faith in the death and Resurrection of Jesus our hope would be weak; but it would not even be hope; or precisely the death and Resurrection of Jesus are the heart of our hope. The Apostle said: "If Christ has not been raised, your faith is futile and you are still in your sins" (v. 17). Unfortunately, efforts have often been made to blur faith in the Resurrection of Jesus and doubts have crept in, even among believers.” -Pope Francis

"Instead of quoting a 95 year old atheist nut, why not quote the pope himself."

For two reasons. First, the cartoon quoted Pope Francis already. Or, more precisely, it quoted a journalist allegedly quoting the Pope. Second, the "95 year old atheist nut" I quoted just happens to be the previous pope. It shows this sort of nuttiness is nothing new.
