Francis: "God Does Not Exist -- The Three Persons Exist!"

Jorge opened his mouth again… Francis: “God does Not Exist! … There is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit!” October 9, 2014. Exactly 56 years …

Nice try. It is unfathomable that any Pope would ever say "God does not exist." The man is a fool, or tool of all that the Divine rejects.

That's true! has there ever been a Pope that pushes a Pachamama, or says don't pay attention to the ten commandments?

A Freudian slip 🤔

Goodness me! I find myself actually in support of Francis in this situation. I don't normally stand up for him, but this conversation is not being interpreted correctly in my opinion.

Here is what it SHOULD look like - we need to be fair. When he does something anti-Catholic, I'll criticise it - but in this case we are criticising him without him having deserved it.

He speaks of a hypothetical conversation between himself and a so-called Friend (clearly an Atheist)

The friend says "But do you believe?': 'to which Francis replies "Yes! Yes! '"

The friend then asks him 'What do you believe in?';
to which Francis retorts 'In God!';

The friend comes back with 'But what is God for you?';
Francis replies (He's) 'God, God'.

HIS FRIEND then says " But God does not exist:"

At which juncture Francis urges the people he is recanting this conversation to not to be shocked that a person would say "God does not exist" That is why he says to the audience " Do not be shocked!" ie that a person should say such a thing & deny God.

Francis then addresses a question to this friend " So God does not exist? There is the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, they are persons, they are not some vague idea in the clouds ... "

So, being fair. (I'm willing to support him this time) He is actually NOT the one saying God does not exist in the reported text- it is the "friend" who (apparently) said it. Francis, in this scenario is the one saying He does exist.

The clincher is revealed with Francis's final retort to this supposed Atheist friend.

"This God spray does not exist? The three persons exist! Jesus is our companion on the journey who gives us what we ask; the Father who cares for us and loves us; and the Holy Spirit is the gift, the extra gift from the Father, that our consciousness does not dare to hope for".

Not very often do I call him unjustly criticised, but In this case I think this entire conversation has been misinterpreted.
Peace and God's Blessings on everyone and let's pray for him.

It's so hard to judge these days; sometimes it seems like he intentionally says things against the faith, but there is a good explanation - it may have been quoted by his atheist friend, who edits a newspaper, it may be out of context, and so on. If he prepared this sermon, how much better had he simply given ideas for why we believe in God and so on.

I am so tired of his blather.
