God has give cats and dogs a special sense for people.

Cats can’t welcome anything. Please stop with the animal worship.
Just me
@123jussi I see no one worshiping an animal. Just two comments which are true. Remember almost all our Saints had a strong connection to animals.
St. Blaise - Healed animals (who came to the saint on their own for his assistance).
St. Brigid - Loved animals, gave sanctuary to a wild boar, turned a fox into a loving pet for the king, was kind to dogs, was followed by a cow.

St. Brigid - Loved animals, gave sanctuary to a wild boar, turned a fox into a loving pet for the king, was kind to dogs, was followed by a cow.

St. Colette - Known to have "an appreciation and care for animals". Had a pet lamb that accompanied her to church. Said to have understood the communications of birds.

St. Daria - When dragged to a place of infamy, she was protected by a lion, in answer to her prayer.

St. Francis Jerome - Oxen and horses knelt during his preaching.

We all know about St. Francis of course. No need to leave such a long list.

St. Anthony Preaching to fish, The donkey.

St. Francis of Paola
- Resurrected his pet trout, his pet lamb, and another fish.

St. Gall - A bear has been called his friend, the bear supplied him with wood.

St. Hugh of Lincoln - Had a friendship with a swan, was protected by a swan while he slept.

St. Joseph of Cupertino - Spoke with animals, resurrected a flock of sheep. They also do not mention how he called sheep to pray with him for The Blessed Mother And a bird he sent to nuns to sing for etc.

You'll love this one.

St. Kevin of Glendalough - While in prayer, a blackbird laid an egg in his hand. In order to protect the egg, he 'remained motionless' until it hatched.

St. Mamas - Preached to animals, was protected by a lion.

And of course you know about St. Martin DePorres right?

Now! Do you wish me to go on? I can if you wish. There are hundreds of them and hundreds of stories on them as well. Would you dare to tell a Saint they are worshiping GOD'S Creation He gave us? I sure hope not. I always said to my family, then it was proven by a Saint by saying the same thing.

GOD made it, GOD loves it, and it will never be destroyed! Meaning anything GOD made. Not just His animals.

All folklore , read genesis . God passed all the animals before Adam and none was found a suitable companion, yes not even the dogs and cats. Animals are great when they are in service to God and man as working animals but not as companions.

@123jussi Folklore? Not at all. Are you saying you don't believe The Saints? Those who witnessed it? Or The Catholic Church? Like the donkey who walked past his food and bowed to The Holy Eucharist.

Why did so many Saints bring their pets back to life? Sad they were murdered or died. Why did so many cure them and live with them? St. Giles lived with a deer in a cave. Another with a bear and so on. GOD made a covenant with both man and beast. A covenant? That is a vow. Who would make a vow to an animal or any creature if they were worthless or without feelings? GOD would. Even had Adam name them all.

And when the Lord shall have brought thee into the land of the Chanaanite, as he swore to thee and thy fathers, and shall give it thee: hou shalt set apart all that openeth the womb for the Lord, and all that is first brought forth of thy cattle: whatsoever thou shalt have of the male sex, thou shalt consecrate to the Lord.

For when Pharao was hardened, and would not let us go, the Lord slew every firstborn in the land of Egypt, from the firstborn of man to the firstborn of beasts: therefore I sacrifice to the Lord all that openeth the womb of the male sex, and all the firstborn of my sons I redeem.

We can go on and on about this. Just remember GOD's Saints are suppose to be very close to GOD. And every Saint was good and kind to them. Lived with them, healed them and so on.

There is a big difference between having a working animal and a pet. I guess you don't understand the difference between a guard dog and a stupid cat that supposedly welcomes new babies.

@123jussi We all have our beliefs. Proof is what I go by. Why did our Saints live with animals? Their only companions? St. Giles with a deer. And I can't remember the one with the bear. Many had pets. They brought them back to life they loved them very much. They named them human names. So, again. Believe what you want. That cat is doing his job. He is comforting and loving the child and mother.…More

My beliefs are Catholic I have no idea what yours are. Thinking that cats can welcome babies is a sickness. Animals are not rational beings pets are not only irrational but so are the pet owners.

I love this one so much. Thank you for re posting it. When that baby is born, that cat will never leave that child. And that child would be able to do anything to her/him. And she/he will protect that child as a dog would.

@123jussi I thought you would want to see a prayer from just another Saint who wrote a prayer just for sick animals, bees etc. This is some prayer.

@123jussi I thought you would want to see a prayer from just another Saint who wrote a prayer just for sick animals, bees etc. This is some prayer.

St Modestos’ Prayer for Animals

(Specifically for animals who are sick or in danger)

O Lord Jesus Christ my God, Who are merciful and All-good, Who in wisdom created every visible and invisible creature, Who pours out His compassions upon all that He has created, Who through Your all-good Providence foresees and troubles over for all Your creatures: bodiless, physical, rational, irrational, soul-bearing, soulless, from the first to the last. For nothing is not foreseen by You, neither is anything abandoned by You, the Creator and Foreseer of all. For You are He Who opens His hand, and fills all living things with goodness. You are He makes grass to grow for the cattle, and green herb for the service of men. You are He Who once, through the herd of Israel, preserved them from above from the fatal wound of the first-born of the Egyptians. You are He Who, through the compassion of Your incarnation, deposed he who had the might of death: that is, the devil, and by Your death, You put death to death.

You are He Who, through myself Your unworthy servant, puts to death the serpent, that Your spring of water might not be corrupted. Those that drink from it, both the living and the dead, through Your life-giving power, you resurrect. And if a demon draws near to it, and prepares to make itself apparent, seize it, that it might never dare to approach the place in which, I the sinner, call upon Your name. To You, therefore, I pray, O All-good Master and Creator of all, and I entreat You, the cause of all life, hearken to this my entreaty, and drive away every fatal sickness and danger from the oxen, horses, donkeys, mules, sheep, goats, bees, and any other animals in true need to the life of Your servants who call upon You, the giver of every good, and of my name. And grant, O Lord, to all those who celebrate my name, and with faith hasten to my relics, permanent peace, multiplication of animals, uncorrupted wheat, wine and oil, and above all, remission of sins, health of bodies, and eternal salvation of souls.

Yes, O Lord Jesus Christ, for the descendants from Your very loins, grant compassion on the suffering animals, whose herd is being afflicted by the sickle of death. And not having any word besides bleating, and bitter and random noises, in Your mercy, take away their passion and suffering. For if You even call rational beings to this sympathy: “A righteous man has compassion upon his animals”, as is written, how much more do You show compassion on these, Who are their Creator and Foreseer? For You, O compassionate, preserved the animals in the Ark, as Your goodness and compassions won out. That by the wellness and multiplication of the oxen, and the remaining four-legged animals, the earth might be worked, and fruit might be harvested, and Your servants who call upon my name might be preserved without any corruption, and partake of their very harvest. And that these, having all things that are necessary, might be increased in every good work, and glorify You, Who grants every good thing. And grant me also, Your servant and most-fervent entreater, the honour of Your all-governing Kingdom, for to You belong all glory, honour and worship, with Your beginningless Father, and Your All-Holy and good and life-giving Spirit, now and ever, and unto the ages of ages.

Amen.
