Spain: Tabernacle Desecrated and Hosts Stolen

The tabernacle of the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Vega in Arroyo de la Encomienda, Archdiocese of Valladolid, Spain, has been desecrated, and the hosts inside stolen.
In a March 14 press release, the Archdiocese condemned the incident as "particularly serious."
An act of atonement will take place during the Eucharist next Sunday. Furthermore, the entire archdiocese is called to "pray in reparation for this sacrilegious act."
The Archdiocese expressed hope that the perpetrator will be found and emphasized the need to strengthen church security to prevent future incidents.
