Our Lady of the Rosary of La Naval de Manila.

Saturdays are dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The second Sunday of October is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary under the title of 'La Naval de Manila' because in 1646, a naval battle against Protestant Dutch ships (despite terrible odds against the two Spanish-Filipino ships) was won. This statue of La Naval de Manila was carved in ivory in 1593 by a Chinese immigrant who later converted to Christianity, and the statue was entrusted to the Dominican friars who still keep the statue in their church of Santo Domingo in Quezon City.
