Francis appointed on July 6, Monsignor Philippe Curbelié, 53, as the Under-Secretary of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
Curbelié belongs to Toulouse Archdiocese, France, and holds a Doctorate in Dogmatic Theology.
He has been an Official of the Dicastery for Culture and Education since September 2012, where he has been Head of Office since 2014.
If Francis’ Praedicate Evangelium were to be taken seriously, Curbelié should not have been promoted but sent back to “pastoral care” in his diocese (PE 17 §4) because he is about to reach the term limit of 10 years in the Roman Curia.
